Courses needed are time blocks during the morning, mid-day, and afternoon.

FUNCTION: Adjunct faculty will provide instruction, service and support of college policies and procedures, along with opportunities for professional development.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Master’s degree in History or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in History (specifically covering the topic of the course to be taught) is required in addition to teaching experience, preferably within a community college setting.

Extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction.
Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction.
Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of community college students.
Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development.
Computer literacy and ability to navigate in a Windows environment.
Knowledge and ability to use and navigate the Canvas Learning Management System.
Must be engaging and focused on student success; the ability to interact with students in a group and one-on-one situations is expected.
The ability to meet classroom deadlines (i.
e.
attendance, grading) and work with students on their response to assignments in a timely manner.
Facilitate classroom discussion and evaluate student performance in a timely manner with timely feedback.
Adhere to course guidelines and outcomes.
Maintain records of student attendance, involvement and progress.
Be responsive and have frequent communication with students, colleagues and supervisors.
