Responsibilities
The School of Communication Science and Disorders at Florida State University invites applications for an Open Rank tenure-track position beginning Fall 2024.
Advanced Assistant Professors as well as mid-career Associates and Full Professors with a history of research funding are encouraged to apply.
This is a full-time, tenure-track position, with a 9-month appointment; academic year requirements include teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, research and service.
Specific level of appointment is dependent on current record of achievement within the discipline.
Candidates with expertise in translational research that addresses complex challenges for developmental populations, especially those with rare diseases and/or genetic disorders, are encouraged to apply (e.
g.
, genetics of communication disorders, pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, cleft lip and palate, autism and other developmental disabilities).
Qualifications
Qualifications include: (a) earned doctorate in communication sciences and disorders or related areas, (b) engagement with seeking grant funding, c) experience in teaching and research, and (d) clinical certification is preferred, but not required.

The School of Communication Science and Disorders is in the College of Communication and Information.
Students can earn undergraduate, masters’, and doctoral degrees.
The masters’ program includes both on-campus and distance learning cohorts.
The School is ranked in the top ten percent of programs nationally.
The environment is highly collaborative with faculty members who have intersecting research interests that include many aspects of clinical, translational, and basic research.
The School is located in a newly remodeled stand-alone building with ample space for faculty, research laboratories, and academically diverse clinical programs.
There is an on-site speech, language and hearing clinic that services Tallahassee and the surrounding counties.
